Last week it snowed in the wee hours of the morning. Snow is rare where I live. When I awoke to go out to my studio, I noticed fresh footprints in the solid 3"snow covering. A man's cowboy boot tracks were accompanied by a smaller child's foot prints. They just started in the snow - with no tracks other tracks in the undisturbed snow. The footprints went up on the porch of my studio, which was also covered in about 3" of snow, and they went to the window. I had not shut the curtains and had left a light on inside. I had not locked my studio door but the footprints didn't even go to the door. I followed the footprints to the edge of a cliff a few feet from my studio. There was snow covering the rocks below. But the footsteps just ended there with no evidence of having gone down the cliff. My dogs did not bark ( as they always do when a visitor comes) or seem disturbed. I found no other tracks - even a vehicle. I could not explain it but for, some reason, I didn't feel disturbed at all.
